Introducing... Lily Lou

Monday June 16th 2008 at 11:32 AM little Lily graced us with her presence. Since nobody else has shown any interest in naming their children after me I decided to take matters into my own hands. :) She was 7 lbs, 11 ounces and 19.5 inches long. Almost a pound heavier than Allie, although I think it is all in her cheeks and hair. She is a little angel, and her big sister just adores her. She is constantly kissing and hugging on her, and tells her she loves her all day long. Sure makes me a happy mom. Having two is going to be a whole lot different than one, I can see that already. Allie is accepting it all pretty well, but that, along with packing for the move, and getting over being sick, she's been a little cranky, but overall taking it well. Lily's favorite thing to do is sleep, and it's a real trick to try to keep her awake long enough to eat. Night times have been anywhere from horrible to great, so there's no real pattern there yet. She is just so wonderful though, and Danny and I could not be happier. He took all of last week off and went back to Arizona yesterday, and we miss him so much. We are moving next weekend, so this will be the last week of all of this craziness. We're looking forward to things sort of settling down a little. Luckily my mom has been here all this time, so that helps immensly. She is awesome. Anyway sorry if this post seems kind of all over the place. Trying to cover lots of stuff in limited time. More later!

Four days and counting...

Alright everyone, the day is quickly approaching. I'm scheduled to be induced on Monday, assuming there are no emergencies in ahead of me, Lily should arrive sometime that day. Hopefully earlier rather than later. :) My due date wasn't until the following Sunday, but my doctor said he'd induce me a few days early in order to make sure Danny will be home and hopefully we will avoid a surprise in-the-middle-of-the-night emergency trip to the hospital and him not be back in town yet. He'll be back on Friday, so as long as I can make it until then, we'll be happy. I've been having a lot more signs of this potentially happening earlier, so I'm just hoping to make it until he gets home.

In other news, this has been a rediculously crazy couple of weeks for Allie health-wise. Two weekends ago she had up to a 104.8 temperature that lingered 2-3 days, last weekend she had an allergic reaction to something and we dealt with that for another 2-3 days. This week she seemed to have some cold symptoms, which I thought were easy enough to handle, until yesterday her breathing became very raspy and she started looking pale. I took her to her clinic and they were VERY concerned and had an ambulance take her to Primary Childrens' Hospital (Again! Twice in 6 months!) where they gave her a breathing treatment and x-rays and monitored her for a few hours. Initially the doctor said they'd likely hold us there for 4-5 days, but when she responded as well as she did with the treatment they released us late last night. Hopefully she continues to improve. Basically she has similar symptoms to those of asthma, but they said that it could possibly be related to the cold she was having, so they are not going to diagnose her with asthma immediatly, and just wait to see if/when it happens again and how often, etc. So needless to say having Danny gone for the majority of all this has been a bit of a stress, but we'll make it through. Soon this craziness will all be over and we'll be all moved and settled. Hopefully. :)

So there you have it. The update. Oh the good news is we have a buyer for the house, so that is one thing to cross of the list of things to worry about. Hopefully it all goes through smoothly. I'm sad to leave this house, I really do love it. Love the neighborhood, the friends we've made in only a year, love the improvements we've made on it. We'll certainly look back fondly on the time we've been here, but are so looking forward to our new adventure.

Oh, and don't even worry, my sister and I already have our New Kids On The Block tickets for their concert in Phoenix in October. I can't tell you how fun that's going to be. If only I could find my NKOTB fanny pack to wear to the event... it's GOT to be here somewhere. We do have our shirts all ready though. Part of the perks of having your own t-shirt business. :) This will seriously be a crackup. I hope they just do all their old songs and don't seriously try to make a legitimate come-back. I think that would be kind of sad. Just humor us. We just felt we had to go to their concert because we never did make it to one back in their glory days.

Thanksgiving Point Childrens Garden

So last week we met up with Allie's best friends for a picnic and some fun at Thanksgiving Point. The girls had a great time, and really wore each other out. These three have always played so well together, I just am so sad to think about how Allie won't get to see them as much. And I won't get to see their moms... :( Katie and Katie are two of my greatest friends from college. Even though they were only there for one semester, we packed those four months with so many great memories. They certainly opened my eyes to all sorts of things, including platform shoes and putting on extra make-up to go to the cafeteria to eat. Although at the time we could not have been more opposite, I just loved these girls to pieces. Now we all have girls the same age and get together as much as possible, and I'll be sad to not see them as much. Anyway before I start crying, I'll just go ahead and post some pictures of the cute girls.

Let's Get Physical

Allie's new favorite accessory of choice is a pink sweatband that she stole from her cousin Libby. She rarely takes it off, and we think she sort of looks like Olivia Newton-John in her music video Physical.

Danny played really well in is soccer game the other day. He is so fun to watch play, and we can't wait to get Allie into soccer as well.
They actually ended up calling the game because Danny punched out this guy and got into a huge fight. You would think I would have been a little jealous that this guy tried to make out with him but then Danny put him on his back so that made me feel better. ;) Honestly though it got really crazy, the other guy had been a jerk the entire game and finally Danny got fed up with him and I only got a few pictures at the beginning because it totally turned into this big old brawl. I was a little nervous, not so much for Danny because he's training to be a cage fighter (ok...not really but he's GREAT with a bow staff) because he has a black belt in Tae Kwan Do, so I knew he could easily defend himself. I was more worried about what he'd do to the other guy. As most of you know, Danny is the sweetest person on the planet, but he's also very competitive, and he's also really bad @$$. In college during one of his games he did a jumping spin kick to this guys face. It was crazy. Blood everywhere. I couldn't have been more proud. :)

That's it. I'm buying a moped.

$75.45 is what it cost me today to fill up my jeep. Insane. When I was in high school is was just over a dollar a gallon, and I thought THAT was expensive. Sheesh.
