Fun Weekend

This was a really great weekend, having Leslie here visiting. She had a lot of people to see in a short visit, but we were able to fit in some fun stuff too. We went up to Park City to see what the Sundance Film Festival was all about, but ended up not getting into any movies. The only movie that we would have been able to see was described to us as a "homosexual cannibalistic zombie" movie, which as you can guess was probably not exactly what we had in mind to see. Sunday we had Hilary and Ben over and had a Luau which was fun. We all had a good time, and it was fun for Allie to have Ella over to play with. All in all, good weekend. Poor Leslie though missed her connection in Phoenix and ended up staying there for 8 hours for her flight to leave back to D.C.

As you can see from the pictures, everyone sort of coupled off. Allie and Ella really got along as you can see. :) They are so cute. I make Allie kiss everyone. She gets around.

President Hinckley

We were really shocked to hear the news of President Hinckley's passing last night. Being here in Utah it was of course all over the news, and it's been great to learn even more about his amazing life. Even though I've been in his presence several times at different events, the one I will certainly never forget was when he spoke at my graduation from BYU-Hawaii, June 2003. He received an honorary doctorate degree and gave a very inspirational talk which was very memorable. I remember while we were all sitting there in our seats waiting for him to come in the room, everyone was very anxious to see him, and has he walked in the entire crowd spontaneously started singing "We Thank Thee Oh God For a Prophet." It was something that I'm sure everyone there will never forget. He really was a great man, and he will certainly be missed.

Three Princesses

I had to steal this picture from Katie's blog, because these three girls just couldn't possibly be any cuter. Best friends Allie, Addy, and Brooklyn got together a couple of weeks ago and got to play dress-up with all of Addy's fun princess clothes. They had so much fun and looked so cute I just can't get over it. Allie was happy to finally find another Sponge Bob soul mate in Addy, and just followed her around the entire time. Fun girls.

Finally a sunny day.

I didn't say warm, but at least we're having some sunshine today. This is the first time you've been able to see any signs of the swimming pool and sandbox that's on the lower deck, in like a month. It's nice that some of the snow is melting, even if it's just for a couple of days. I swear I'm starting to notice something about myself. My mood is almost 100% based upon the weather. One sunny day and I'm suddenly the happiest person in the world. Time to move back to Hawaii I think...

Today I am very excited because L&L will finally be reunited. My dear friend Leslie and roomate from college is coming to visit for the weekend, and I couldn't be more happy to see her! She should be showing up anytime now. Yay! Hopefully we'll have time to fit in a trip to da kine L&L Drive-inn (no, not named after us, but most people thing it was...) for some local grinds. We're hoping to get together with a third member of our crew, Laree, as well. SPH Fo' Life! We'll miss you Liz and Chels!

It's a Girl!

Well we got some interesting pictures taken here today as you can see... We figured this would be a good time to make the official announcement that Danny and I are expecting our second little angel sometime around June 22nd, 2008. We are VERY excited, especially now that we've found out we're having another girl. As a side note, June 22nd will Danny's and my nine year anniversary of knowing each other. :) Anyway everything looked good on the ultrasound, all tests are coming back normal and so far nothing to be concerned about at all, which is good news. Allie was really cute during the ultrasound. She was really excited and all she kept saying was "baby baby baby" until she started getting quite upset about something, and we couldn't figure out what it was until she started stripping off her jacket and pulling up her shirt. She wanted to be examined too apparantly, so they gave Danny the little heart beat monitor thing and he checked Allie out and verified that she did NOT have a little heart beat inside her other than her own. Anyway it's an exciting day for us, I was really looking forward to finding out what we were having, as it all just seems so much more real now. So there's our news! Time to paint that extra room now, since when we moved in it was blue...

Oh, and no names picked out. Any ideas let us know!

Is it summer yet?

Well it's snowing again today, as it has been doing for the last two months, and I'm having some serious sun withdrawls. I thought that possibly it would help to post some pictures from the good 'ol days on here. Hopefully it helps some others out there who might be stuck inside all day like I am.

These are my thoughts exactly. I've only recently started using Wikipedia to try to find answers to lives biggest mysteries, and they are all there. Anything from pop-culture to history to business terms and practices. Michael Scott is a genius. That's what she said.

New Years Eve 2007

New Years Eve this year was way fun. The Blazers were in town playing the Jazz and every time they come to Utah we go see them play. We dress up in our red and black, go early and try to meet players and coaches and stuff, and do our best to not get stuff thrown at us for not cheering on the home team. It was so sad though because the Blazers, who as you MIGHT know, are on this amazing winnning streak, and although they have one 16 of their last 17 games, the ONE game they lost was this one in Utah. :( We did get to see the Blazers beat them though in Utah a few weeks earlier so that was fun, but a bummer that at that point thier 13 game winning streak had to be broken with us present. Anyway we had an awesome time. After the game we went to a movie, which got out at exactly midnight. It was 6 degrees outside so we hurried home to get warm. Anyway it was a really fun NYE. Allie got to go shopping with Papa and Grandma Glo, so she had a good time as well.

Allie's Second Birthday

Allie's birthday this year was a lot of fun. My parents arrived late morning and surprised me by flying sister Hilary in for the week. Allie loved having her Papa and Grandma Glo here, along with Auntie Hil. Monique and Marc came over, and we did presents and the Elmo and Cookie Monster cakes were unveiled. Hilary had helped me decorate them earlier in the day and Allie LOVED them. It made me feel so good that she actually easily recognized who they were. Even in cake form. :) She got some great gifts which she loved, thank you to everyone, and had fun hanging out with the family. My mom beat Danny and Wii Boxing, which was a humbling experience for him, and Monique is a great Wii Tennis player. All in all it was a good day, and Allie was just as cute and as sweet as can be, saying "Thank you" for everything and giving everyone lots of hugs and kisses.

In other news, I forgot to post about my greatest Christmas gift that I received a few days before Christmas. Allie can now say "I love you," actually it's more like "of you!" but she says it all the time, especially before bed time, but it is just so sweet because she just says it in her little high-pitched sing song voice, and it just makes my day every time.
