I love you Danny! Thank you for making me the luckiest girl in the world. Since the day we've met you've been my best friend and even though I didn't admit it for several years you were the love of my life. Thank you for being an amazing husband, and a fabulous father. All three of us love you and appreciate you so much. Happy Anniversary sweetie!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Lily Lou

Six months ago today was one of the best days of my life. Our little Lily was born, and we just couldn't have been happier. My mom always said that I was a little ray of sunshine in her life, and that is EXACTLY how I feel about Lily. She is constantly smiling and is overall the happiest baby I think I've ever met in my life. She has her moments of course, but once the problem is rectified she just goes right back to smiling. She also is the LOUDEST baby on the planet, so when she is not happy, she is sure that the entire neighborhood knows about it. I think she will mostly likely be an Opera (I nearly wrote Oprah...) singer, and is just practicing early. This six months has just flown by, but at the same time it's hard to imagine life without her. Danny said she just fits in to our family so well it's like she's always just belonged here. I just adore this little girl with all of my heart, and I am so grateful that she has joined our family.

Stupid Human Tricks

This is Danny's buddy Nate doing his interesting little trick. I thought I was pretty cool that I could balance a salt shaker on it's bottom edge, but that's nothing compared to this. WARNING: If you are eating, or ever plan on eating again, do not watch this video.

He's hoping to take his act on the road... you may be seeing him on Letterman here shortly. Good luck Nate! Don't sneeze!

Sites and Sounds at the Phoenix Zoo

So we were at the zoo a few days ago, and I almost thought I was going to have to have "The Talk" with my two year old. Luckily she didn't really ask a whole lot of questions. I do have a video of this, but honestly I think it might be a little too vulgar to place on my blog, which I generally try to keep on the "family friendly" side. But I was visiting my friend Katie's blog earlier and she had a very similar experience at the Honolulu Zoo a few days ago so I had to post my picture. These turtles are over 100 years old, so hopefully neither of them busted a hip or anything.

Thanksgiving 2008

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. Danny's brother Tommy, his wife Jamie, and two girls drove down from Utah, another brother Nate and his girlfriend Elise flew in from Utah, and his parents flew in from Hawaii. We were sooooo glad that everyone was able to make the trip, and definitely missed the family that was unable to be here.
We had tons of fun playing games, eating, hanging out, playing volleyball, hiking, going to the zoo, and all kinds of other things. Sadly I wasn't my normal self with my camera, and didn't take it with us everywhere, but I did get a few good ones here, especially of the cute girls. Allie had a BLAST with her cousin Libby (and hasn't stopped talking about her since she left), Lily and Paisley were entertained just by looking at each other, and the rest of us kept busy with our Rock Band careers. Jamie is an animal on the drums, Tommy by far the best singer out of all of us, and Danny rocked it on the guitar. We had a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner which was made mostly by Danny's mom, with a few of us helping here and there. The lady sure knows how to cook.

Since the weekend was really so crazy I hadn't really gotten a chance to really think about what I was grateful for. First and foremost I am grateful for my family. Danny and the girls are my life, and their health and happiness are so important to me, so for that I am extremely grateful. I'm grateful for my wonderful parents, my beautiful sisters, their husbands, and my sweet baby neices Mayumi and Leah (who will be making her appearance in February). I love them so much. I'm grateful to have married into such a great family, full of loving and generous people, and adorable neices and nephews who I just love to pieces. I'm grateful for our house, I'm grateful we live in such a beautiful (warm!!) place, and I'm grateful for all of our wonderful friends.
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! And thanks guys for making the trip out here!! We had a blast and miss you all already!

Yumi's Birthday Present

My birthday was a few days ago, and I wouldn't normally be advertising that, but I had to show you what my niece Mayumi made me for my birthday. Isn't she adorable?!?? Along with Danny decorating the house, and Allie running around crazy playing with all of the decorations, and the pancakes that Danny served me in bed in the shape of my age (2?), and getting to see Quantum of Solace, going to my favorite Mexican restaurant, Danny's family arriving for Thanksgiving, and a bunch of great presents including Rock Band, it was seriously the best birthday ever. Thank you everyone who was involved and for the calls, texts, emails! I feel very loved.

Blazer Game Part Two

Saturday we went to another Blazers vs. Suns game. We took the girls this time, which turned out to a pretty bad idea. It was just too late for Lily to stay up, but once she fell asleep we were able to relax and watch the rest of the game. I just spent about 40 minutes in the family bathroom trying to get her to stop crying is all... Anyway we took our secret weapon Allie with us, and since she's so cute nobody could be mad at us for cheering for the Blazers in Phoenix. Oh, and this time we did NOT have front row seats, but sat up in the upper bowel, but we still had a blast.

Loved It!

I won't go into too many details because some of you may not have seen Twilight yet, but I want to go on record in saying that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't really go in with my expectations all that high, knowing that the movies are never as good as the books they are based on, so I ended up being pleasantly surprised and totally loved it. Thanks Saysha for taking me for my birthday! Several of our friends went to the midnight showing, however since her and I are up during the nights with our little babies we wimped out and went yesterday afternoon instead. Way fun.

Merry Christmas from the Stansfields

This year Danny and I decided to do something a little different for our Christmas Card. Danny had the great idea of making a music video, so check it out! Switch to full screen if you can, and make sure your speakers are on. Enjoy!

Blazers vs. Suns

So last weekend we went out for my "birthday" which isn't actually for like three weeks but this counted as my birthday present. We splurged and bought FRONT ROW tickets to the Blazers vs. Suns game here in Phoenix. As most of you know I am a HUGE Blazers fan, and have converted Danny to be one as well, so we really have always wanted to sit on the front row so we just went and did it. Thank you to our friends Nate and Saysha for watching the girls, so we were able to really enjoy the game and not have to think about anything else. A few weeks before that we took them to an NHL game here and Allie had fun yelling "Go Coyotes!" but Lily didn't really enjoy it so we left early, with a screaming baby. Anyway back to the Blazers... We got all decked out in our Blazer clothes and unfortuantly they lost but we had such a great time. Of course our favorite team is the Blazers, but the Suns have always been my second favorite team, so it was especially fun to watch. Shaq is huge, they call him The Big Cactus here now that he plays for the Suns, and it was cool to see him play up close. After the game we were able to meet several of the players and get autographs. Here is Danny with Nicholas Batum and me with Rudy Fernadez. I won't post all of the pics because I'm sure most of you have lives and don't REALLY care all that much, so I won't waste your time any longer. It was however EXTREMELY exciting for us. Thank you for listening.

Little Lindsay

So Danny and I were looking through some old pictures of the two of us and decided to scan a few, and I thought I would share a couple of our favorites. Here is one of Monique and I on a horse, and then one of Hilary and I playing doctor. I'm the one on the left in both pictures.

I have the best sisters in the world by the way. They were always so nice to their baby sister. Except for the time they told me I was adopted. Or that they told me that Monique was a ghost. Or when they let Andy tie me up with duct tape... No really they are the greatest. :)

Halloween 2008

We have attended several Halloween events over the course of the last couple of weeks, but the actual day is always the most exciting. We went to the Halloween party at our church, and Allie got a bucket of candy. They had some great games for kids, and the girls were adorable.
Lily started out the evening dressed like this... She had been a pumpkin for earlier events but decided to go with a different vegetable and dress her up like a pea-pod. I knew she'd be warm, but told her that since she's a girl she might as well learn early that sometimes sacrifices must be made for fashion. Her mom doesn't do that often obviously, but sometimes it just has to be done. She ended the evening like this. The 95 degree weather made us start to think that child services might be called on us if we forced her to wear it any longer. She was must happier after this costume change. Our happy little familyCute little girls ready to party

My Baby Riding a Horse

Allie is just growing up so fast I can't even handle it. A couple of weeks ago we went to the Arizona State Fair. First of all, let me just say it's the best fair I've ever been to. Clean, not stinky, and their petting zoo had a baby giraffe and zebra. Enough said. We had a blast, and Allie was all about the rides and animals. Riding the horse was definitly the highlight of the day for her.

Here is Danny feeding a giraffe. It totally licked him.

Danny with perfect form winning Allie a giant stuffed dog.

Congratulations Carrie!!

I wanted to give a quick shout out to my BFF and tell her how proud of her I am. To protect her identity let's call her C. Burt. No no no, Carrie B. Yes, that's it. Carrie is graduating from her Air Force Training school tomorrow. She joined the Air Force a year ago and after boot camp and this year of training she's off to Maryland to be stationed at Andrews (right??) Air force Base. I'm so proud of her. Back in high school she told me she wanted the join the military. We talked about the pros and cons of the Navy, and how her title would be "Seaman". You can see why she opted to join the Air Force instead. So it took a few years, with some interesting careers along the way. Other than her Billy Ray Cyrus impersonations (see picture) Dairy Queen was her first job, where she hooked me up with free ice-cream, even after she mutilated her hand in the Blizzard machine. She continued her career working on behalf of the Honolulu Lions Club in search of donations for The Cavalcade of Stars, which may have lasted two weeks... She worked in the marketing department for Xango (not to be confused with Jamba Juice like my Dad kept thinking). She graduated from Utah College of Massage Therapy (see picture above) and got a job offer to work on a cruise ship in Hawaii, but she turned all this down to join the Air Force, and for that I am so proud of her. She is now a pro at fixing all kinds of electronic medical equipment, and is planning on having the military sponsor her way through medical school.
Carrie has always been there for me. Including during a very precarious situation while I was in labor with Allie, but we don't need to go into the details of that... But she is my best friend and I just wanted to make sure everyone knew what an important time this is for her. Way to go Carrie! Thank you for being brave enough to serve your country during this crazy time.

Papago Park

Now that it's starting to get a little cooler (mid 90's) we're able to go outside during the day a little easier, and have been loving it. A few weeks ago when my dad was here we went and hiked up Papago Park, and then again last weekend Danny and I took the girls and went up even higher. Both trips were way fun, and Allie loves riding in her backpack.

Lily's Big Day

Last weekend while my Mom, Dad, sister, and neice were in town we blessed Lily. She and Danny were both so sick all weekend, in fact Lily still is, but she still was as sweet and smiley (just not in these pictures) as ever. She just had her four month checkup and she's 12 pounds, 24 inches (wow two feet!!!) and although she's only in the 30th percentile for height and weight, she's in the 110% for smiles and personality. We love our Lily Lou so much!!

It is totally impossible to have a family picture where everone is looking at the camera, with their eyes open, smiling, and no boogers on the face. One of these days... one of these days.

Grandma Glo and Lily Lou are good buds. Lily even shared her cold with Grandma who said it was certainly worth all the hugs and kisses they shared.

Halloween Part One

Last weekend we went to some friends' Halloween Party. It was really sweet, with bands, a FREAKY haunted house, and all kinds of activities for kids. Allie had a BLAST to say the least. We got there late and missed out on the professional pictures that were taken, but I did catch a few myself.

Here is Allie and Lily with a few of their friends. Allie is the bee, Lily the pumpkin, and their best friends Abby, Caitlin, and Emma. Allie was kind of having a bad night when it came to pictures. Her timing was a little off so don't mind the crusty looks she's giving. She had a great time. Yay for our family!

Here's Danny and his buddy Nate showing how much they love each other.

My friend Saysha and I, and our two little cuties. You can tell that she and I went all out on our costumes this year. My Frankenstein costume won first prize at the costume contest and her Dracula costume was the talk of the party.

These little sisters love each other so much. Poor Lily was pretty warm in her costume, we had to ditch it the second we got to the car. So much for snowy Halloweens! Have I mentioned that I LOVE Arizona?

Allie with her dog "Honey" that Danny won for her at the fair earlier that day. I'll post pictures from that event shortly, but there is nothing funnier than watching her haul him all over the house with her.
